Week 2 Reflection

The Learn (Ako) part of Learn Create Share
It was interesting to listen to Dorothy talk about how past research of what are effective teaching practices have not been thrown out and are used in conjunction with digital technology not being just a tool. Many parents think that we are just putting a device in front of their children and it is used like pencil and paper. It would be great to be able to record Dorothy and push play when I get asked about digital classrooms. I would love to be able to read some of the research on the success of the Maniakalani Progamme over the past ten years to use to inform teachers at our school.

  1. Yet again some amazing things to share with your colleagues Kate. The Manaiakalani story is something we try so hard to share with our whānau but they continue to ask questions which is good, yet tells us they still don't understand. There are lots of snippets on the Manaiakalani site that you could share Kate, and maybe we should find a way for our whānau to access your professional rangitaki so they can also see the impact it has on our teachers. Thanks for asking questions today, it's great to be able to answer them directly.

  2. Kia Ora Kate, thank you for being willing to share today's learning with others. It is like the pebble dropped in the pond the effect could be endless. Nicola is right Dorothy has some great video outline the learn create share pedagogy that she has made public, that you could share with the community. All the best best in getting the message out there, remember it only takes one pebble to create a ripple. https://tchingprofessional.blogspot.com/
